Thank You! (and ver1.2 Updates)

Hello :D

Thank you for checking out “A Tome in the Attic”! The game has been published for over 24hrs now, and I’m already very grateful to all the plays and nice comments. I look forward to replying to them (when it isn’t almost 4AM for me...)

Despite having published this game not that long ago, I’m already uploading a new build. NOTE: the story is still the same!

Version 1.2 Updates

  • Added Presplash/Loading screen!
    • Presplash was made for the 1.1 version, but I didn’t save it in the game directory correctly.
  • Updated UI
    • Most of the GUI in the game uses the default assets. Colours were edited to be a little more cohesive (hopefully!)
  • Updated Main Menu
  • Updated About screen
    • Credits have been on the About screen since 1.1; additional links added, including one to this game page! Aforementioned GUI updates makes the About more readable
  • Minor script edits and grammar corrections
    • Switched two lines close to the end so that it flows better. Edited one of the question choices for clarity (the two “book” questions)

This is the first game I’ve made in a few years and was very nervous about posting. I'm very grateful for learning about the O2A2q jam from a VN dev I respect. I'm also very grateful to teenager me for designing Allin (and essentially not documenting anything other than what he looked like) so that I could start with a blank slate for this project.

I'd love to talk more about Allin and the concept behind this game, but an updates devlog posted at 4AM might not be the best place to do so ^^;; Once the jam is officially over and/or I've run out of polish items, I'll update with a postmortem both here and on my ko-fi!
